I think this is definitely the play for startups but more established companies I don’t see it happening because of trade secrets. I know many companies that started restoring because global workers was working for them and I ge competition.

Not sure i fully understand. Bigger companies would still have to go through hiring and setting up local subsidiaries, but if it saves them money, why wouldn't they?

I apologize for not being clear, you are calling it decentralization of workforce, while I am calling it offshoring, which has been done in the tech industry for years. Basically, it started when Clinton signed the NAFTA act and engineering jobs started being offshored. I agree with decentralization (offshoring) for startups, but larger companies that have already tried this before would have to have a local company to protect their trade secrets. It was all too common for knowledge workers to work for the competition of larger companies. In a foreign country, any agreements prohibiting employees from doing that become difficult to enforce. Furthermore, background checks in the US are not done the same way as they are in other countries where you can easily pay for them not to be done.  We can have a full conversation about decentralization of workforce (Offshoring) that has proved to be a catastrophe for not only the supply chain but for our economy. Anyhow, thanks for the great article, and I'm definitely learning a lot about tokenomics.  Oh btw there is already a reshoring initiative for manufacturing and the supply chain but what I have been seeing in bigger corporations for tech is more workers are either citizens, green card holder or H-1B visa holders.

guess that's good then! Trade secrets are an important thing course and I wonder how this all unfolds with web3 and remote work.

Well for Web3 companies and some startup the decentralization is a great model for them to get talent for pennies on a dollar, but bigger company have not embraced Web3 and will not until some sort of regulation is implemented. Once that happens my belief is they would scrape most of the copycat protocols and take the best part of blockchain for themselves. Take a look at two Enterprise Permission base Blockchain - Hyperledger Fabric https://www.hyperledger.org/use/fabric and Hyperledger Besu(EVM) https://www.hyperledger.org/use/besu
